Back-to-Back Brilliance: Hardline Hitmen Capture the Kakwa Cup Again!

The Hardline Hitmen have done it again.

With a clean 3-0 series sweep over Red Light District, the Hitmen locked in their second straight WPL Div 2 (Kakwa Cup) title — and they did it with depth, consistency, and well-earned confidence.

Game 1: OFFENCE came unhinged

Final: Hardline 10 – Red Light District 9 (OT)

The opening game was a shootout in every sense. Red Light came in hot, matching Hardline goal for goal, but in overtime it was Kyle Klassen who ended the battle and gave Hardline the early series edge. Brent Turnbull was a standout with 4 goals and 6 points.

Game 2: Statement Win

Final: Hardline 8 – Red Light District 2

Game two was all Hitmen. The team’s defensive structure and puck movement frustrated Red Light, while Conrad Wiebe stepped up big with 4 goals. Goaltender Carter Cliffe held strong in net, and the Hitmen walked away with a commanding 2–0 series lead.

Game 3: Closing the Door

Final: Hardline 6 – Red Light District 4

With the cup on the line, Red Light pushed harder, but Hardline stayed in control. Balanced scoring from Colby Klassen, Ben Hampshire, and Sawyer Warkentin kept the Hitmen ahead. Another solid performance from Cliffe sealed the deal.

What's Next?

For now, the Hitmen enjoy a well-earned offseason as back-to-back champs. The rest of Div 2 will be looking at how to build a team that can compete with their structure and pace.

Until then, the cup stays with Hardline.
