The Wapiti Players League (WPL) is located in Grande Prairie! The WPL is perfect for recreational and beer league hockey teams who want to play co-ed, non-contact hockey without any of the headaches that come with organizing and booking games and ice time.
By joining the WPL, teams will have access to our system where we will handle all game scheduling, referee assignments, and scorekeeping. All games will take place in and around the Grande Prairie Area, making it easy to get to games and reduce travel costs.
Our volunteer-run organization is committed to providing a great hockey experience without any profit motive. Any remaining funds will be distributed back to the teams to help reduce next year's registration costs. We pride ourselves on being transparent and will provide a full breakdown of costs and fees to team managers at the end of the season.
IHL - Industrial Hockey League
As of recently, the WPL has adopted the Industrial Hockey League (IHL), a non-contact league that attracts Junior B and Senior hockey players looking to continue playing competitive hockey. By merging with the IHL, the WPL hopes to increase registrations and overall awareness of this amazing league in Grande Prairie.
